Three Things: Here Comes Autumn Edition

2012 September 10

It’s not technically autumn yet, but it’s beginning to feel like it here in Minnesota. As the temperatures turn comfortably long-sleeve, I begin to anticipate orange and red hues when I walk outside. While we wait for the trees to catch up to my expectations, let’s write as if fall was already in full throttle, shall we?

J.E.H. MacDonald, Autumn Maple, 1915-1916. Oil on beaverboard. National Gallery of Canada.

Piet Mondrian, Farm near Duivendrecht, c. 1916. Oil on canvas. Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL.

Franklin Carmichael, The Glade, 1922. Oil on canvas.
