Tori Hogan, author, filmmaker and aid specialist, will discuss her book Beyond Good Intentions: A Journey into the Realities of International Aid on Friday, October 26 at 3:00 p.m. at the University of Minnesota Bookstore in Coffman Memorial Union, 300 Washington Ave. S.E. Minneapolis.

Based on her personal experiences, travels and work in African refugee camps, Beyond Good Intentions is a memoir of Hogan’s round-the-world journey where she met with over sixty aid organizations and hundreds of recipients to produce a film series on aid effectiveness. Both a moving story of one woman’s personal journey and an urgent call to arms to change the way we offer aid overseas, Hogan’s candid reflections on international aid shine a light on our ability to improve the lives of others, often in ways we would never expect.

Hogan will sign copies of her book following the discussion. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, or to order a signed copy visit www.bookstore.umn.edu/genref/authors.html.
