Psst: A Fiction Contest Starts Monday!

Inspired by the three-part serial ebook, And In Their Passing, A Darkness: The Salt Machine (Red Sofa Books) by local author Jeff Smieding, Hazel & Wren is hosting a fiction contest!

Here’s how it will work:

On Monday, January 13, we’ll post three prompts for you to choose from. Write up to 2,000 words using one of the prompts, and submit it before the end of Friday, January 31.

Esteemed contest judges are none other than David Oppegaard, author of The Ragged Mountains, and Esther Porter, Revolver editor!

Winning entries will be featured on the Hazel & Wren website, be invited to read at a Minnesota book launch event for The Salt Machine in the spring, and receive a literary gift basket of letterpress prints, gift cards, and more!
