You are invited to Biblio Bash 2012! A literary carnival to honor our readers, writers, the history of books, and the heritage of Coffee House Press!
Coffee House Press is excited to present this year’s theme for Biblio Bash: A Literary Carnival! Attendees will experience an atmosphere reminiscent of a county fair, with popcorn, a sundae bar, and “booths” staffed with barkers.
At a time when new technology is rapidly changing how people read and interact with books and authors, Coffee House Press is interested in designing new literary experiences. While traditional literary events often focus on a passive audience – where authors stand on stage and read to an audience – Biblio Bash is focused on engagement and participation. We want to encourage our readers to literally interact with our authors and books, stage dramatic interpretations, play games, and create their own unique experiences of our mission. It’s fun, not stuffy! Dance the night away with music by DJ Jacquie Fuller from 89.3 The Current and with performances by CHP author Dylan Hicks; flex your creative muscle with the chance to create book art and wax eloquent with a magnetic poetry wall; scoop up fantastic getaways, dining experiences, and more at the always-popular silent auction. We’ve got an overflow of literary fun, and we can’t wait to share it with you!
Admission into the big-top includes music, performances, Sugar Shack snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. Scoop up extra activity tickets to indulge at the Midway with alcoholic drinks, a wine bottle ring toss, specialty food and more.
